The CaSSS System Master Menu
============================
The CaSSS System Master Menu is a "Life-Saver" for the beginner, and a "Time-
Saver" for the power user! Its ease of use and flexibility make it a program
that you'll never out-grow.
If you've got a hard disk computer, you can spend a lot of time changing sub-
directories and searching DIRectory lists, looking for the program you want.
Even if you remember the name of the program you want and where it's located,
you shouldn't have to waste your time getting started!
The CaSSS System Master Menu gives you access to your programs and DOS
commands by simply typing a number. Any command that you execute at a DOS
prompt can be executed from the menu:
- Built-in commands, like "DIR" and "COPY".
- DOS programs, like "FORMAT" and "CHKDSK".
- Batch files.
- Programs like Lotus 1-2-3, dBase or Word Perfect.
Maintaining the menu, adding, changing, and deleting entries couldn't be
simpler! Just type "M" for Maintenance, and make the necessary changes, ON
SCREEN, WITHOUT LEAVING THE MENU PROGRAM!.
Any menu entry can be another menu! Each menu can have up to 40 entries.
There's basically NO LIMIT to the number of menus you can have.
- Each menu is in a separate sub-directory.
- Your "Top Level" menu could have entries for up to 40 other menus!
- Each "second-level" menu could have entries for (up to 40) other menus.
- Menus can be "nested" up to nine levels deep!
"Variable" menu entries can be set up to ask for information to be used in the
command, such as:
- A disk drive letter.
- A sub-directory specification.
- A directory "mask".
- A file name, such as the document name for a Word Processor.
A "General" menu entry lets you perform ANY COMMAND, on ANY DISK and ANY SUB-
DIRECTORY.
An entry can be set up to "temporarily exit" the menu.
- You then have a normal DOS prompt and may execute any number of commands or
programs, change to different sub-directories and/or disk drives.
- At any time, the DOS command "Exit" returns you immediately to the menu.
Any time that you return to the menu, your original disk drive and sub-
directory are reset. You always know where you are.
Each menu can be a different color (or normal/reverse video on a monochrome
monitor.)
Each menu can be printed, as a hard-copy record, or to use as a model when
setting up new menus.
The CaSSS System Master Menu comes on a 5.25" disk, packaged with a 27 page
User's Guide.
For a limited time, the CaSSS System Master Menu is being offered to
registered users of CompuShow at a SPECIAL MAIL-ORDER PRICE of $30!
The CaSSS Mailing List System
=============================
With the CaSSS Mailing List System, you can enter, classify, retrieve,
maintain, select, and sort name and address data, print mailing labels,
various mailing lists, and output names to produce personalized letters. The
[F1] key is available throughout the system, displaying "context-sensitive"
help information at the touch of a key.
If you've ever used a mailing list or DataBase program that has a separate
first and last name, you know about the problems with that kind of system. The
program needs to know the LAST NAME, in order to sort names alphabetically.
But, with a SEPARATE first and last name, one or the other is always too
short! With the CaSSS Mailing List, the "\" (Back-Slash) identifies the start
of the last name. It's used when names are sorted alphabetically, but is never
printed.
Four category codes provide an almost infinite number of combinations to
categorize your Mailing List records.
You can print labels that are one, two, three, four, or five labels across the
page.
The maximum number of characters that will fit on each label determines the
maximum size of Name, Address lines, and City that you can enter in the
maintenance function. This means that you can be sure that the names you enter
won't be "chopped off" when labels are printed.
Names can be selected for a Mailing List Report, Mailing Labels, or output to
a "Merge File", to create personalized letters.
- The Merge File is compatible with virtually ALL Word Processor programs.
- Sample formats are included for WordStar, Microsoft Word, and PC-Write.
The Mailing List Report can be printed with all Mailing List data, as a quick-
reference list, or as a phone directory.
When names are selected for mailing labels or output to a merge file, you may
automatically update the Date of Last Contact.
The CaSSS Mailing List System comes on two 5.25" disks, with the "ready-to-
print" User's Guide on disk.
For a limited time, the CaSSS Mailing List System is being offered to
registered users of CompuShow at a SPECIAL MAIL-ORDER PRICE of $55!
CaSSS Checkbook Reconciliation Program
======================================
The Checkbook Reconciliation is like a very specialized, high-speed spread-
sheet.
- The top section of the screen contains "header" information:
- The account name.
- The statement period (from and to dates).
- The beginning and ending balances from the bank statement.
- The beginning and ending checkbook balances.
- The calculated reconciliation of the bank statement and checkbook, which
are updated continuously, as you enter data.
- The center section is a window over the transactions.
- The bottom lines indicate available options, the date, time, shift status,
etc.
- Context-sensitive help is available at a touch of the [F1] key!
- The [F2] key is available to automatically enter the next check number for
you. In any column other than the check number, [F2] will repeat the entry
from the previous transaction. (For example, if you write a number of checks
on the same day, [F2] will repeat the date from one line to the next.)
Each month you write checks for rent or a mortgage payment, utility bills,
doctor, dentist, credit card payments, etc. As a time-saver, you can assign
names to "macro keys", so that you don't have to type them each time. The
names that you use on a regular basis can be assigned to "Alt" + any letter
key.
The beginning balances for the statement and checkbook are carried forward
automatically from last month. As you enter the amount of a deposit or check,
the checkbook ending balance is immediately updated. For each check or deposit
on the bank statement, enter "Y" in the column labeled "St", and the statement
reconciliation is updated immediately.
The Reconciliation can be printed to your printer, to the screen, or to disk.
"Closing" a reconciliation creates the reconciliation file for the following
month. The account name, the statement and checkbook balances and any "in
transit transactions" are automatically "carried forward" to the next month.
The CaSSS Checkbook Reconciliation comes on one 5.25" disk, with a 21 page
"ready-to-print" User's Guide on disk.
For a limited time, the CaSSS Checkbook Reconciliation is being offered to
registered users of CompuShow at a SPECIAL MAIL-ORDER PRICE of $29!
